The Queen Anne Victorian House

For Christmas Eve we went to Peacock Lane to see the lights, went to James' kids' house to give them their presents, and then we went to The Queen Anne Victorian house to see more lights. It was gorgeous. The mansion was built by David Cole as a wedding present for his wife Laura Boone, great granddaughter of Daniel Boone, the pioneer who is famous for exploration and settlement of Kentucky. The mansion is 4,300 square feet and is the oldest of its kind in the city of Portland. The interior is lavished with original light fixtures and museum quality Povey stained glass windows. The mansion is open only at Christmastime and is also used for weddings. It is privately owned. It takes a month for several decorators to get it ready for Christmas and is amazingly decorated. I'm glad we went to see it.
